Chat Central

Update! - Our most recent Chat on February 7, 2002 was one of the best ones yet.
Over 20 classmates showed up over a 4 hour span.  An hour into the Chat we had 10 people in the chat room.  At one point we were down to about 4 people but then it picked back up again.  Thanks to all those who participated.  To those classmates who accidentally kicked themselves out of the Chat Room (you know who you are) keep a tally of all the beer you owe to the rest of us at the next reunion.  We will collect!   An informal poll of those who participated on Feb 7 indicated that Thursday night seems to have the most appeal for an on-going Chat schedule.  We'll try the first Thursday of every month for March and April.  If that seems too frequent, we'll take a look at it after the April Chat.

The BHS76 Chat Room Is Always Open - July 23, 2001
From Joel Baglien

The BHS76 Chat Room is "always open" so feel free to visit it whenever you can or to arrange meetings with some of your classmates.  We will still have our regular weekend evening free-for-alls on a somewhat regular schedule.  Remember that even if there are other BHS classmates in the Chat Room, you can always engage in a private Whisper Session Chat.  If you are trying to coordinate a visit with some classmates, please put a notice in the Message Center and / or email the classmates your are inviting with the date and time of your Chat.

You do need to follow the instructions for joining the BHS76 Community, obtaining a Passport and for the download and installation of Chat software.  Once you are set up with your Passport, you can log in to the BHS76 Chat Room at any time.  Click here for Chat Setup instructions.

Another Successful Online Chat - July 15, 2001
From Joel Baglien

Many thanks to the 15 classmates that showed up for our 4th online Chat on Saturday, July 14th.  The Chat ran from 8 PM Central time until about 2 AM.  The average number of classmates in the Chat Room at any time during the evening was 4-6.  All in all it was a successful Chat, a lot of laughs, and a good time was had by all.  Our next online Chat will not be held until after the reunion.

How does a post-reunion chat in late August or early September sound?  Our classmates that can't make it to the reunion could join in for all the bochinche, lies, and other stories.  It would be nice to continue our chats.  What does everyone think?  Maybe we could space them out every two months or quarterly.  Suggestions?

June 9, 2001 Chat Cancelled!
From Joel Baglien

Update: Saturday, June 9 @ 6:50 PM CST
To quote Agent 86, "Sorry about that Chief!".  After spending 5 hours on two different systems using two separate MSN / Passport accounts, I am completely stumped on how to create our BHS76 chat room.  Thank you MSN for another well thought out and thoroughly tested upgrade to the online chat software.  (Note: heavy sarcasm - and yes, I'm just a tad pissed off!)  At this point, we do not have an alternative to create a chat room at the last minute.  I will do some research on alternatives for us and try to reschedule our next online chat for sometime in the next three weeks.  My apologies to those of you who were planning on a chat tonight.

Online Chat Update
bulletJune 9 Chat to be rescheduled within 2-3 weeks!  We apologize - see announcement above.  Chat setup information now available
bulletOur third Saturday night chat on May 12 was great.  We had 25 classmates visit over the course of the evening - 12 for the first time.  We even welcomed BHSers from 1973 and 1977 who needed to hang out with "their people".  At one point we had 12 classmates in the chat room.  Lots of laughs, bochinche, and fun stories plus "reunion recon" updates from Diana Duncan (more to follow on our Web site soon).  A list of those who participated is now available.

Online Chat - April 22, 2001

bulletTHANKS to everyone who joined the April 21 chat session!  We had 12 classmates join in - 7 for the first time.  It was a great time.  You missed some great bochinche!
bulletMark your calendar for Saturday May 12th.  We will have our third live reunion chat starting at 8 PM, Central Time lasting until about midnight (later for those of you who are el buhos).  Chat setup information now available
